01The kitchen

Made from scratch, cooked to order

Everything here gets made from scratch and cooked when you order it — that’s the whole idea, and honestly, it’s why there’s sometimes a wait. The regulars will tell you it’s worth it.

Every day

Hand cut in house

Fries and pounders, cut by hand in our own kitchen — not out of a freezer bag.

Off the grill

Half-pound Black Angus burgers

A real half pound, cooked to order. Foot-long dogs and panini on the board too.

A regulars’ favorite

Fresh haddock fish & chips

Fresh haddock, fried to order — the plate the reviews keep naming.

Low & slow

Roasted in house

Slow-roasted turkey, roast beef roasted right here, and slow-cooked pulled pork.

From the block

12 oz hand-cut ribeye

Cut in house, cooked the way you ask for it.

Dessert

Giant homemade pies by the slice

Save room. They’re homemade, and the slices are not small.

What the regulars order

  • Fish & chips
  • BBQ pulled pork sandwich
  • Blackened haddock sandwich
  • French dip
  • Onion petals
  • Sweet potato chips

Favorites as named by customers in public reviews.

03On tap

Twenty taps, always turning

Twenty local and regional draught beers, heavy on Maine craft. The list turns over constantly, so we don’t print it here — ask what’s pouring, or grab a flight and try a few.

Rotating list — never the same board twice

The rail turns over constantly — twenty handles, heavy on Maine craft. Ask what’s pouring today.

Flights poured

Can’t pick from twenty? Get a flight and work your way across the rail.

The mug club

There’s a mug club. Ask about it — that’s all we’ll say here.

Full bar behind it

Wine and cocktails too, if beer isn’t your thing tonight.

06About

Fourteen years on Main Street

Two locals opened the Publick House in March 2012 — fourteen years of rotating taps and scratch cooking. Today you’ll find it at 481 Main Street in Springvale village, where reviewers keep mentioning the owner out working the floor with a smile.

When our kitchen hood failed in September 2025 and we had to post a closure notice, the comments filled up with regulars offering to help. That’s the kind of town this is — and the kind of place we try to be.
